Insideous Pro-war Campaign Comes to Ottawa Schools
Is there any doubt but that the real motivation for the backers of this campaign is to enforce among Canadians the same kind of repressive pro-war groupthink as Americans have suffered under these past few years?

- B

Ottawa schoolchildren may be showing their support for troops overseas by donning red on Fridays if a motion put before the public school board on Tuesday is approved.

Trustee Riley Brockington has drafted a motion that proposes the voluntary participation of all students and staff in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in a campaign to wear red on Fridays in support of Canadian troops.

"I represent a school zone that has a very strong, deep veteran community and a multi-decade presence of men and women who have served their nation and this is the least that we can do," Brockington said.

RIBBON CAMPAIGN

The Red Friday campaign was launched by the wives of soldiers posted in Afghanistan and is making an appearance in the hallways of Ottawa City Hall and in the form of red ribbons pinned to police officers' uniforms across the city.

1. Can't wait until Nov. 11!!
Pure propaganda calculated to undermine democracy -- public displays of patriotism is oldie, but a goodie. But the white tribes loves this stuff so they can strut around their workplaces staring down the immigrants: "Yes I wear Red to show my support for out troops killing people like you!" Quite amusing if you think about it as many immigrants come here from actual war zones, whereas the white tribe types only experience of war is seeing 'black hawk down'.

The Tories are really going to roll out this 'wedge' issue and the media is going to hammer away on it as part of the Conservative re-election campaign.

I hope the government falls sooner, than later. Fuck the liberals and their arrogance -- the longer they appear to be a party willing to wait until December while Canada is at 'war!!', the worst they look.

They'd be doing themselves a favor to defeat the government.

2. it's all Marita Moll's fault
http://www.maritamoll.ca/webmom/contact.html

She ran against incumbent former Patty Ann Hill

and allowed the moronic Riley Brockington

(apparently the rightest-wing candidate, and apparently a Liberal:

to win on a three-way split

Just call Marita "Jack". She obviously wanted the school community to be saddled with a right-wing paper-pushing warmonger for its school board trustee.

Damn those lefties.
