I love how it all works out RE: Budget, Cadman deal
See, the Cons gave a shit budget because they hoped the liberals wouldn't support it and spring an election cause the cons know they're popular now. The libs didn't fall for the bait. Now, days later, this cadman story comes out. So, the liberals get to let this fester for a bit then we'll have an election he he he. Kiss any chance at a majority good bye, Harper.

1. The Libs got lucky on this one
The caucus and leader are probably hard at work right now figuring out a way to blow any opportunity that might emerge.

And the NDP is probably trying to sort out how to blame it on the Liberals.

Yee haw!

3. Haha, either way, it's good
Cause the whole left wing sway in the US right now makes the left look more appealing. And Cons up here offering dying men insurance money reminds people of all that is bad about right wing. It gives the people who voted con last election an excuse to go back to the Libs.

2. Harper must have been thrown by this...he forgot to button up his jacket when he stood up to
Edited on Thu Feb-28-08 03:23 PM by glarius
answer the questions in Question period. This is something I have always noticed about him: every time he stands up to answer a question, he would smoothly, and casually button his jacket as he answered. Today he stood up there with his tie hanging down to his belt! I always laughed about it because he never failed to button up.....until today. This may sound silly, but I think it's significant. He must have been nervous!

4. Another theory...
It looks like ghe's losing a bit of weight (likely as part of his pre-election planning) and he may be less self-conscious and hence not doing up his jacket to hide his gut.

5. Another thing that is significant to me is that he showed no outrage.
An innocent person should have be fuming that his integrity was being questioned. He just got up and smoothly denied that it was true. If I was falsely accused of bribing someone, I would certainly show some anger. That's how it seems to me anyway.

6. That's interest.ing...
though he does tend to be rather emotionless. He immediately and typically went on attack mode. He's more Pavlovian Rovian than Bush at this point.

7. Neo-con Harper
All Harper has is US-style attack politics. Canadians are way smarter than that. Where have all the good conservatives gone? You know, the ones that still voted for the right solution because it was just plain good government? They all got driven out of the party by neo-con stooges like Harper, a man totally twisted by a selfish and anti-social ideology. Stupid parliamentary tricks won't work...the polls still show a virtually leaderless liberal party in a dead heat with them. Even staunch tory friends of mine consider him just this side of fascist.

9. As Napoleon said
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

Harper shoots a bit more of his foot off every week he is in power.

11. I think the following is the smoking gun:
One of the Liberal Members of Parliament in question period this morning said something that explains the whole thing, I believe. I wasn't listening all that closely to Question Period but when I realized what he was saying I picked up my ears. He said something to the effect that there is a life insurance policy that each M.P. has (through the government) that the Conservatives would pay off after his death to make sure that $1,000,000 went to Cadman's wife. I'm not exactly sure how it went, but if people would look into this, I think that is the smoking gun.
