Day to raise trade concerns with U.S. at forum
DAVOS, Switzerland–International Trade Minister Stockwell Day said Friday that he intends to fight against a growing protectionism movement in the United States and will push for more liberalized global commerce.

Day pledged to raise Canada's trade concerns with his American counterparts during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

"In a time of global downturn, we need to send positive signals and create positive opportunities and not see doors being shut," he said in a telephone interview Friday from Ottawa before leaving for Switzerland.

Day plans to meet with the American trade representative to discuss the "Buy American" provision in the U.S. bill that has stoked Canadian concerns over protectionism.

Yep. That's our Doris alright.

He is going to fight. Will raise concerns. He will send positive signals.

Sounds to me that he will be down on one knee pleading to be able to learn how they manage to do it.
