Nunavut teen spotted on ice floe

Two search and rescue technicians have parachuted onto an ice floe where a 17-year-old was trapped near Coral Harbour, Nunavut.

A search crew aboard a Hercules aircraft spotted the youth on the ice at around 9:15 a.m. ET, roughly eight kilometres off the coast of Coral Harbour, officials told CBC News.

Two Hercules aircraft had resumed searching Monday morning for the boy, who became separated from his uncle as they were returning home from a weekend hunting trip.

The pair split up after one of their snowmobiles broke down. They had been gone from Coral Harbour for about three nights, but it's unclear exactly when the teen became missing.
