1. WTF, Shelley Glover is an MP??

She's also a "patrol sergeant presently on a leave of absence to pursue positive change in politics,
" according to her website. (Or as one blogger wrote, she's "just visiting".)

Whatever, she's not very savvy:

Glover recently wrote to the Louis Riel School Division and offered to provide free water bottles to students who were doing well in French immersion. But the bottles would have been plastered with Glover's name and the Conservative party logo all over them. The school division rejected the offer citing a policy that prohibits the promotion of a specific politician or party's logo.

Glover defended her actions saying she was working for her constituents. She argued she was promoting the French language.

2. Yet she was sent to appear on national television

to represent her party, and was made a fool of by claiming she'd never heard of Flanagan.

3. Jebus, she's almost Palinesque

She's so proud of her ignorance, so absolutely confident in the fact that she's the one winning the debate. (Note to Glover: "Palinesque" is not a compliment.)

I've always hated that whole "he's a Canadian and he's entitled to his own opinion" line. It just never sounds good - she sounded like she thinks she is the one magnanimously granting Flanagan the right to freedom of thought and expression. It's insulting.
