Ottawa — Canadians rallied to arrange emergency aid while waiting for news of family members caught in a devastating earthquake that rocked tourist beaches and fishing villages from Thailand to India on Boxing Day.
Ottawa promsed an initial aid contribution of $1-million, while the Canadian Red Cross, UNICEF World Vision, Oxfam and other agencies called for cash donations to support their relief efforts.
