OTTAWA—Helena Guergis is demanding answers from Prime Minister Stephen Harper after the RCMP said there was nothing to the allegations he cited when dumping her from the Conservative cabinet and caucus.
“I think it is time for a face-to-face meeting between the PM and I,” she said in a statement a day after the Mounties exonerated her and her husband, former Conservative MP Rahim Jaffer.
Guergis, who has been under a cloud of alleged criminal wrongdoing since Harper called in the Mounties more than three months ago, welcomed the RCMP’s findings.
“I am relieved with the outcome as I knew that I had done nothing wrong,” she said.
