1. Dr. Raj Sherman suspended from Conservative caucus
EDMONTON — Outspoken Alberta MLA Dr. Raj Sherman vowed to continue his fight to improve the province’s beleaguered health-care system after he was suspended from Alberta’s Conservative caucus Monday.

Effective immediately, the emergency room physician-turned-politician will sit as an independent in the legislature, apart from the ruling Tory majority.

“It’s disappointing that I’m being suspended from caucus for advocating for Albertans at a time when the health-care system is in a crisis,” Sherman said moments after the Tory caucus meeting adjourned Monday afternoon.

“I am confident that all Albertans will join me in continuing to advocate for solutions to the problem.”
