Why is it BOWMAC and not MACBLOW?

2. There is a landmark sign in Vancouver
BOWMAC. It is on a building that was the headquarters for a company called MacMillian Blowdel (MacBlow for short.)

Pontiacs and GMC

The sign is what's left of an amazing era of Vancouver when the city was a becon of neon sign art.
The Bowmac was the only sign you could see from North Van when lit up.
You also (Legend has it) could see it from Van Isl
