Deal with Bloc taints marriage bill's legitimacy: Harper

Members of Parliament began final debate on Bill C-38 on Monday, the start of what is expected to be the final week before the House of Commons breaks for the summer.

With support expected from the NDP, Bloc Québécois and most Liberals, the bill establishing the Civil Marriage Act could pass before the weekend.

Harper schemed with the Bloc to try and bring down the government and that was just 'handy dandy' but the Liberals, Bloc and NDP all being in agreement on supporting the same-sex bill 'taints' it?

Harper should be applauded. I'm hard pressed to think of a single other Canadian that's doing more to minimize the power and influence of the Conservative Party.

9. The most infuriating thing in that article

was Ken Epp talking about how black people didn't ask to be called white, and women didn't ask to be called men, so gay people shouldn't ask for the same name (marriage) in laws that protect their rights. Whaaaaaaa?! Gay people aren't asking to be called straight, and women still took part in 'voting' which had ALYWAS been a MALE institution. Why did they need to call it voting?! Why not find their own name for it, crazy women, trying to take over a rightfully male system :eyes:

I refuse to call the CPC anything but "Reform". His bigotry, stupidity and refusal to allow facts to interfere with his opinions are typical. I did go to a couple of events to hear him speak.

Now gone, split into Sherwood Park and Vegreville-Wainwright. Ken Epp chose to run in Sherwood Park, closer to the bright lights of the city, I guess.

I lived near the booming metropolis of Lamont.
