CBC Labor Dispute
For my Canadian DUers, what's the latest on the CBC labor dispute? The labor dispute has affected the programming on Radio Canada International. RCI has had to go to alternate programming because of the labor dispute, and I really miss hearing As It Happens.

Any word on when things might be solved?

2. Thanks for the link!
I hope they can get things resolved, and soon! I feel so deprived without the normal RCI programming I'm accustomed to picking up on shortwave radio.

Also, I haven't been receiving my daily email news updates from CBC!

3. Nothing
Significant yet that I have heard.
The locked out workers have set up a web site that might develop into something. It certainly has appeared quickly.

I am also suffering withdrawal as are others.

4. I'm on the line in Toronto
In addition to CBCUnplugged (I was at a meeting for it this morning and it's coming along well) you can check http://www.cmgtoronto.ca/ for updates and (another effort) http://www.cbcontheline.ca/ plus there are a ton of blogs.

It could be long, but public support will help. Write your MP and stay tuned for other ways you can help - I will definitely post them here when it is time. If management hadn't called a lockout everyone would still be working and the negotiators would still be talking. We haven't had a contract in 18 months, I don't know what suddenly made management pull the plug.
