Your 5,500 brothers and sisters at the Canadian Media Guild, locked out by the CBC could use your help (whether you are in Canada, the US, the UK or elsewhere). There is plenty of info available if you go to cmgtoronto.ca or cbcunplugged.ca but in short ..

In the short term CBC management wants the right to hire virtually unlimited contract and freelance employees. In the long term the fear is that they want to turn the CBC, one of the last bastions of honest, reliable, credible journalism into just another channel on the dial - profits, and the least expensive product geared to the lowest common denominator.

At the sites I mentioned they will list ways you can help, I will post again over the next few days with more ways that you can help (regardless of where you live) if you are willing and able to help (send some emails, maybe a phone call or two) please bookmark this thread and check back regularly.

Call me batshit crazy, but all evidence I've seen points to the CBC being motivated by financial reasons.
