Poll question: Do you have digital television
Now that Tessa Jowell has announced the timetable for shutting off the analogue signal ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4247622.stm )I was wondering how many have digital.

I think that the important issue is not such much the head-line figure of how many households, but what proportion of actual televisions. I'm in a house shared with a couple of other folk - there are 5 televisions, one of which has Sky - I would imagine that a similar practice carries across the country.

1. Well, you got me doing some experiments
Since I have a freeview box, which so far I'd only tried on my main TV (proper aerial, SCART connections). I tried it on my portable with its own aerial, and no channel come through properly.

But while I was doing all this, I found a 6th broadcast analogue TV station! On channel 29, it's been called "MyTV Network", "TV Network", or "Southampton TV" (the web seems to show that it's changed hands once or twice over the past 2 or 3 years as companies go into receviership), and is now Six TV. It was showing a shopping channel "TVNetworkShop" until noon, and then started showing Sky News.

No wonder they had receivership problems - they never publicised the bloody thing! It's a "Restricted Service Licence" - anyone heard of them before? They turn up in the weirdest places.

3. Cable on one TV
But then, I only have one TV. Does that mean that I have cable on one TV or all of them?

Basic package from NTHell, the free-to-air channels and a smattering of pay channels (Sky One, etc.).
