Cameron's got a "fuck you" coming for the north east
Mr Cameron said his party had identified "streams" of spending that would be reduced, adding that many programmes in government had "got out of control". He said some of his savings would come from shedding jobs, but denied that meant compulsory redundancies.

During the 30-minute grilling, Mr Cameron indicated that the North-east of England and Northern Ireland would be among regions where government spending would be cut.

I think the DUP will push for a deal to keep N.I.'s money. A majority Tory government would stick it to the north east without such political considerations.

1. How to stop money from flowing into Northern Ireland...
Classify the Free Presbyterian Church as a hate group (which it is) and ban the DUP.

2. Disgusting but not surprising.
On the whole, the North East votes against the Tories anyway, so the Tories feel entitled to piss on them.

I hope Cameron doesn't get the chance!

3. The Tynemouth, Berwick and Hexham seats should all be worth watching.

On any sort of swing, the Tories should retain Hexham with a whopping majority, gain Tynemouth (with its Tory elected mayor) on the kind of swing needed to gain a majority and gain Berwick in a Blair-style landslide.

Now that Cameron has promised that a Tory government's policy for the North East would be "hoc est vasta," fingers crossed for a Lib Dem gain in Hexham and status quo elsewhere.
