Labour leader: Johnson backs David Miliband for leader

Former Home Secretary Alan Johnson says he will not run to succeed Gordon Brown and will back David Miliband to be Labour leader.

Mr Johnson told BBC Radio 4 the party had "a body of great talent" but he said the ex-foreign secretary was a "remarkable politician".

The former post union chief also said he wanted "as many hats in the ring as possible" for the job.

Stressing that Labour had an "exceptional pool of talent" in its ranks, the 59-year old said he felt Labour needed a younger leader to take the party forward.

Is the pack of reactionary, Murdoch-fellating scumbags that are forming the new government, and the gang of slimy opportunistic confidence tricksters that will be propping them up.

I seriously doubt I'm the only person here sick of you using a progressive website to brag about your decision to use your vote to screw over the poor and destroy our public services, but apparently I'm the only person rude enough to spell it out.

7. I only moved here 4 years ago

Prior to that I had a negative view of the Tory party but once I moved here and studied the politics, my views changed towards the Tory party and I'm a quiet supporter of the LibDems (my husband and his family are Tory supporters) as well but didn't feel that they had enough clout (boy, was I wrong). I'm a big time Democrat from Minnesota as well. And the longer I looked at the Labour party, the more I felt they seemed Republican to me (that's only my opinion).
