Nick Griffin says he will quit as BNP leader by 2013

Nick Griffin is to step down as leader of the British National Party by the end of 2013, a party statement says.

According to the BNP website, he said by then he would have been party leader for 15 years which was "long enough".

He wanted to "make way for a younger person" and focus on getting re-elected to the European Parliament in 2014.

Here's hoping that the Nazis have a few years of infighting to stop them spreading their pollution as much.

1. Hope they do have the 'circular firing squad'!
I suspect that quite a lot of BNP members are now calling for Griffin's head, following their humiliation in the election. Maybe that's why he's promising to resign - eventually. Some of the members may try to pre-empt it. Anyway, the greater their disarray, the better for the country!
