Investment banks face Office of Fair Trading probe

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is to announce a probe into parts of the investment banking industry, the consumer watchdog has said.

Details of the investigation will be revealed on Thursday.

But it is expected to focus on the prices which investment banks charge for services such as advising companies and underwriting share offers.

Banks are understood to have been warned to expect the announcement, which will be made at 0700 BST.
