The Tories SAID they were going to do this. Plenty of economists SAID it was a bad idea.

2. No bleeding hearts for the CBI, as even after the election they were recommending cuts rather than
tax increases; BUT what interests me here is that within two months of taking office, the government are already attacking criticism from key allies as well as enemies. I hope this means that they won't last long, or at least will be thwarted in their attempts to impose their more extreme policies.
