I am sure we would all like to wish Lady Thatcher a brief stay in hospital, speedy recovery and
a prompt return to full health.

2. Thousands of good luck messages sent to Lady Thatcher’s infection
http://newsarse.com/2010/10/20/thousands-of-good-luck-messages-sent-to-lady-thatchers-infection/

After Baroness Margaret Thatcher was admitted to hospital, thousands of well-wishers have passed their good luck messages to the infection currently keeping her bed-ridden.

Dozen’s of former mining communities have been quick to pass on their best wishes to the infection, at what they are sure is a very difficult time.

Former miner Roy Grimsdale told reporters, “We know how hard it can be for an infection to keep someone hospitalised, but all we ask is that is does its best to hang on in there. It has the support of hundreds of thousands in the former mining and manufacturing communities, and I assure you that it is in our thoughts almost every moment of every day.”

Former pitworkers near Rotheram are planning a candlelit 24-hour vigil in support of the infection at this, its darkest hour.

3. I certainly would.
Can you IMAGINE how David Cameron would use a state funeral for electioneering purposes?!

5. Here's the Torygraph's Ed West on the subject
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/edwest/100059829/the-glee-with-which-people-talk-about-thatchers-death-reminds-me-of-the-inherent-nastiness-of-socialism/

Well, opinions vary. I find West's hatred of immigrants and of poor and disabled people far worse that anyone's hatred of Maggie.

7. Anton Vowl: Why I don't want Thatcher to die
Edited on Thu Oct-21-10 10:25 AM by T_i_B
http://enemiesofreason.co.uk/2010/10/21/why-i-dont-want-thatcher-to-die/

It's funny, but the feeling that's crept across me over the past few days, upon hearing that Margaret Thatcher is ill and might not make it, is not one of joy. I thought it would be, but it isn't. No, the overwhelming feeling is something approaching disappointment, and sadness. The reason why I feel sad is that I want Margaret Thatcher to live a long and healthy life - and I think all self-respecting lefties should, as well. And I'll tell you why. I want her to live, to see a day when the things she believes in are not just discredited, and despised, but overturned, and consigned to the wreckage of history.

I want her to live, to see a day when she is rightly regarded as a poisonous and terrible influence on Britain and the world - not just by the usual suspects, or by those who suffered at her hands and those of her friends Botha, Reagan and Pinochet, but by the vast majority of people.

I want her to live a long and full and healthy life where she can see that the things she did were truly disastrous - and, while, I don't wish ill upon the country and I hope that I'm wrong about the effect of her heirs' cuts on the country, I want her to live to see the day that her brand of me-first neoliberalism is shown to be a horrific stain upon the world, and not a solution to anything at all.

If she dies now, it's perfect timing, in a way. You can see David Cameron carrying on the torch from her at her deathbed. The cry of "Let's do it for Maggie!" will go up. The obituaries will be glowing towards the 'Iron Lady' and her legacy - I have a feeling they always will be, I'm afraid - in the newspapers who eagerly enjoyed her policies then, and who eagerly enjoy her successors' policies today.
