That the Grauniad couldn't do the story on it's own? It had to share the story with others to avoid an inevitable superinjuction due to ridiculous British laws.

2. Saddest part is that none of it is especially 'secret' or 'sensitive' |

For example the fact Saudia Arabia and Iran are huge rivals in the Middle East and the wider Islamic world has been known for years by anyone who bothered to study the facts rather than just believed the crap churned out by ther MSM
Similarly it has been obvious that Prince Andrew was a huge liability to the Royal family for decades. A quick rereading of his cringe making foot in mouth comments at the time of the Lockerbie bombing is enough to confirm that he is the first person who should be subjected to a pemanent D notice gagging order.
The worries of western powers about Pakistans nuclear capabilities fslling into the hands of Islamic radicals is hardly a surpise either.
As for the diplomatic gossip about the foibles and failings of the the rulers of rival nations that has been going on since the days of the Venetian ambassador at the court of Henry VIII
The main theme is that governments lie to their peoples and then lie to each other but then we all knew that anyway. The leaks just confirm it.
