I'm beginning to wish that someone could put him out of his misery.

1. At least this scheme comes with good intentions
Good intentions that have been lacking from almost everything Clegg has done since he took office.

As long as any proposed reforms don't end up reducing the power of the Lords then that should be fine. With the Commons essentially little more then a rubber stamp for Downing Street we need the balance of a second chamber.

However, House of Lords reform is not a cause with much of a track record of success, and the chances are that any reforms will be fudged or that the reforms will get kicked out.
