The worry about this kind of report IMHO is that it trivialises by stereotyping. The NI affair is a serious business which looks likely to be as traumatic and game-changing for British politics as Watergate was for the Americans.

So please can "respectable" media pundits stop turning it into the Sad Old Duffer attacked with Words and Pies by Unattractive Lefties and rescued by Lovely Wife and Prodigal Son Show.

And while we're on the subject, if that "Jonnie Marbles" pillock didn't realise that his daft stunt was at least as likely to win sympathy for the Digger as contempt, then he would have been well-advised to dedicate his life to flower-arranging rather than "poltical activism".

1. Colour me suspicious
but one has to assume a lot of people must have deliberately been looking the other way to allow Mr Marble to prepare his plate of shaving foam and get it into the hearing. Either Marble is a bought and paid for NI stooge or he is as dumb as a bag of spanners.
