UK workers 'unhappiest in Europe'
"Workers in the UK are among the unhappiest in Europe, and those who work with others are the least likely to express job satisfaction, according to a survey published today.

Just 47% of UK employees said they were either happy or very happy with their current position, compared with 68% of Scandinavian workers and 61% of French employees.

Only in Spain (46%), the Netherlands (45%) and Belgium (35%) did fewer employees express satisfaction with their work. The research was carried out by recruitment agency Kelly Services and based on interviews with more than 14,000 people across Europe between June 2004 and February 2005."

It would seem those who don't want the "Anglo-Saxon model" imposed on them are not fools.

3. Thatcherism and Reaganism
And their disciples including Blair is the reason why neoliberal market fundamentalism is labelled "Anglo-Saxon", somewhat unfairly because "Anglo-Saxons" are victims of those policies to even greater extent than French, Scandinavians etc., which are now under relentless attack from market fundies, Blair and Brown leading the charge.

In fact, I think Blair and Brown are the worst enemies, not Tory's. Those posing as leftists and being anything but can effectively keep up the charade of "no choise" and keep the masses from activating while eroding the social model, labour rights and decency even further. Something that Tories could never do in current climate, if they attempted the same now, they would have mass demostrations and general strikes up their ass.
