My heartfelt condolences for our
friends in the UK.

I was horrified to hear of the tragedy unfolding in London today.

I am so sorry that this had to happen to your wonderful city.

UK citizens have been some of the world's most vocal opponents of the illegal war and this administration and you have stood by our side fighting for justice.

I will be thinking of you today and I want you to know that we are standing by your side.

~Linda

1. Thanks, Linda.
It's one hell of a shock - but London has seen worse.

4. Very true.
Londoners are survivors.
But it still hurts to think of how and why this might have happened.
Our news reporters are imbeciles.
I'm tuning in to BBC now.
Stay safe.

5. My prayers, condolences, and thoughts are with you.
You UKers have gone through a lot and I am thinking and praying for you throughout the day. Though I know the UK is not just London in the extent that the US is not just New York, we all weep when we lose our own. As Linda said, we in the states are standing by your side.

is amazing.

I cannot believe how well this event is being handled by emergency services and citizens alike.

Incredible.

Especially to British DUers, who patiently answered all my questions and corrected my misconceptions during the run up to the elections a couple of months back.

Don't allow your less-enlightened countrymen to wallow in the fear that turns to intolerance and hatred.

I would not presume to instruct the English on how to show resolve in the face of viscious attacks. That is a national characteristic of your's that we all should admire.

We know that we can count on you. I hope that you feel that you can rely on us as well in the real war on terror.

The signs so far are that there will be a measured response to yesterday's dreadful events.

18. I actually envy you.
I wish I could be proud of my country again.

The standard American knee jerk reaction of shooting first then never allowing any questions to be asked is going to seal our fate, I'm afraid.

I am amazed at the response from your citizens and leaders.

In this country, they would be branded liberal cowards.

25. American Neocons on Brit Far-Right sites are trying to do exactly that ...

Despicable!

Don't worry, I know who our real American friends are.

I cannot stand to listen to our news sources, they are fueling this type of reaction. It's been the BBC since the morning of the attack.

16. Let me add my belated condolences
We are all truly grieving with our British cousins.

Condolences to the families and friends of those lost and hurt in this monstrous event and to the British people as you cope with this tragedy.

Other than that, I'm at a loss for words.

Your impeccable manners are an indication of a true gentleman and should have given you away.

20. Not from, but have lived there for the last 8 years,
which is longer than I have lived in any country continuously... the UK feels like home as much as anywhere these days.

And the UK feels more like home to me too, and I don't even live there.

It is becoming unbearable here.

23. I'm so sorry...
to all of the people in London and in Great Britain, my condolences, prayers, and heart are with you. I sank when I turned on the tele yesterday morning to see what had happened. I am ashamed that our misleader is the cause of all of this evil. He doesn't care what it does to other people with his practice of cowboy politics.

24. Condolences from an American trucker
My heart grieves for the families of those killed by these cowards. I only wish we Americans had the wisdom to respond in a measured way instead of just shooting from the hip. Sir Winston once said "We will not give in". I know you won't. Godspeed......Ron
