DAVID BLUNKETT is to assume control of the Home Office and the fight against terror while Charles Clarke, the home secretary, is on holiday

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A senior Downing Street source said: “There has been a lot of fuss over Charles going on holiday, but we think he deserves one and David Blunkett will fill in over that brief period while he is out of the country. He obviously has a lot of experience in the area.” Not good experience...

1. ugh
This is what galled me just after the election, Blair brings back everybody who was fired over the last term. Generally, if somebody has good cause to resign or be fired from public office, shouldn't it stay that way? :banghead:

4. Hazel Blears, Baroness Scotland or Tony McNulty
going from the Home Office webpage. Blears' job description seems most relevant at the moment. Not that I'm a fan of hers (she's a Blair yes-woman, through and through), but almost anyone would be preferable to Blunkett. I hate to think what badly-thought out legislation is going through now.
