Debnam Concedes Defeat before NSW Election.
I've never seen this happen before - Peter Debnam today said that it appeared that Labor was set to
win the NSW election, if polls are correct.

"In an extraordinary press conference, a clearly emotional Mr Debnam appears to have given up getting votes for his own party and resorted to appealing for a protest vote against the Government.

"The poll that counts is on election day," he said.

"The one today is a clear indication at this stage that it appears the Labor Party's going to win the election.

"Well, that's bad news."

I hope there is a protest vote against the Government; one which will see votes going to the Greens
and Independents.

I also hope this serves as a smack in the face for the Xian Right, who set up this silly man as their
puppet when instead the Libs could have been coasting to victory with John Brogden. If anything ever
proved that religion and politics shouldn't mix, this is surely it.

1. Was it a lack of support from John Howard that did Brogden in?
If that's the case, I'm sure we'll hear more after the election.

2. I think the Right saw Brogden as being too progressive
Brogden's downfall was almost certainly initiated by David Clarke of the Xian Right, although of
course he denies it, and it would certainly have had Howard's approval, whether or not he was aware
of the plot beforehand. He didn't lift a finger to save Brogden, and he was quick to endorse
Debnam.

Another wheel falling off Howard's bandwagon.

3. Santoro Snotbucket just resigned! Oh look there goes another
wheel.
I'll bet that Tony Rabid or Smirkboy say something like:-
Labor reward their criminals by giving blah blah blah.
I like to watch them sweat.
I hope, also, that Labor tie Howard to Bush as often as possible.
I think that carcase is going to start to stink, politically, from now on.

4. Unbelievable little tanty/dummy spit
Debnam has more than likely seen the knives drawn and can taste the bitter end of his political career. It’s par for the course with the Libs – don’t deliver and you’re tossed onto the scrap heap. I cannot say that I’m sorry.

Face it, Speedo Boy, the NSW electorate would prefer the ‘Sopranos’ wannabes Costa and Tripodi :scared: over him. That’s gotta sting. Peter, we just don’t like you or your Xtian flunkies.

And as you say, it has to send a signal to the Xtians to get out and stay out of politics. The Rev Fred Nile is about all we can stomach, and that's a stretch.

Hopefully, the one positive move out of this whole state election debacle will be increased seats for the Greens in the lower house as well as the upper. Ian Cohen and Lee Rhiannon may finally have some company.
