Letters of St Paul to the Electorate - Brilliant!
I have just found this sequence on the ABC website - no writer credited, but it does have a feel of Annabel Crabb.

With a campaign that's getting more out of hand and more depressing by the day, on both sides of the political divide, these letters gave me the best laugh I've had in weeks.

From Letter 1:

"ix) And Kevin and Penny took neither rest nor sleep. For they worked XXIV/VII and took they no respite. And they told the other leaders of their plan. And the other leaders shaketh their heads. And unfortunately they shaketh them not up and down but from side to side.

x) And lo, Kevin and Penny returned to their people saying 'We have tried everything. We cannot get agreement from these bozos. For they all agree, except about doing anything.'

xi) And the people said 'Where is our ETS?' And Kevin replied saying 'Holdeth thee thy horses. Seest thou this in some context. Fixeth we not the economy? For it was laid waste and now is the envy of the world.' And the people looked and saw that it was so.

xii) 'Very good work' they said. 'But where is the ETS?'"

And from Letter 4:

"xiv) And Julia was angry and they asked her 'How can it be that all this stuff leaketh?' And she replied 'I know not how this cometh to be. But when I find out, stand ye well back, for there will be smiting, and I mean that most sincerely'.

xv) But the people were not satisfied, for although Kevin hath one voice, they hath many and could speak volumes. And they saw not their concerns represented, and they saw not leadership and they asked again 'Where is the ETS?' And answer came there none.

xvi) And the people were cast down, and they referred to the sacred texts, which said 'omg, wtf' and 'lol.' And many of the texts also said 'cul8r'"

I hope they continue; they're priceless.

2. Just checking in here...
Thanks for posting those. I was reading the coverage at the Guardian and was made duly nervous.

But I'll be back here for more...
