Independent and Green MPs at the National Press Club
Anyone else see it today? I was rivetted.

Politicians answering questions with passion and knowledge all their own, not scripted by others. Man, it was a wonderful sight to see.

Adam Bandt of course is not an Independent. He acquitted himself pretty well, and I voted Greens so I definitely wanted him there. But beside Oakeshott, Windsor and Katter he looked, unavoidably, like the beginner he is. And unlike them he does have a party line to follow, so his debut here was a little more restrained.

Rob Oakeshott was on fire. He's not giving up on the multi-party approach just because some people laughed at him yesterday.

Pity Denison isn't resolved or we might have got a look at Andrew Wilkie, I'd like to have heard his responses to the questions asked today, particularly on those parliamentary procedure.

2. I watched it on NEWS24 late last night.
I think that all of Canberra was watching. The power brokers must be fearing that, if it goes on, Democracy could break out.
Oakeshott was very impressive. The others were clear about their positions.
Then there is Bob (mad dog) Katter. He seemed to take both positions on everything.
I still don't know what he thinks.
On a lighter note, I thought the Chaser was good. Especially the "jolly dumbfuck" line
in Waltzing Matilda referring to the rabid Barnaby.

3. power-brokers are shitting themselves
Witness the Murdoch press now screaming for another election. Never mind the Coalition won't let Treasury see their costings, look over here, here's another irrelevant poll.

Their version of Democracy = the people must keep voting till they Get it Right.
