AN expelled Israeli secret agent who befriended Attorney-General Philip Ruddock's daughter was a persistent womaniser on a mission to recruit spies, intelligence sources say.
Amir Laty was kicked out in late December for trying to seduce women at top national security, defence and spy agencies.
He spent most of his 18 months in Canberra chasing female spies, diplomats, defence specialists and even journalists.
"It was an attempt at high-level espionage," a well-placed national security source said.
Mr Ruddock yesterday denied his daughter Caitlin's friendship with Laty led to his expulsion.
