A Brilliant idea is on John Conyers' blog this morning. Translate the letter and spread internationally. Galloway was such a breath of fresh air, imagine if could gain the support of other international progressives and free thinkers?

If you have translation skills and can assist, place your offer at http://www.conyersblog.us/archives/00000110.htm#comments

Here are the two blog posts that address the issue:

Dear Congressman Conyers,

May I humbly suggest you have two versions of this letter for signature, one for US citizens and one for non-US citizens, equally concerned about the Downing Street Minutes.

I think that besides US citizen support, you will get enormous international support calling for an explanation!!

I personally find Jacob Matthan's suggestion of having two versions of the letter for signature (US and non-US) interesting and something to consider.

Given the fact that American politics has a big impact on the whole world (good or bad), it is indubitable that a request of truth and clarity sent to Mr. Bush is of importance for people even outside the United States and does not sound unreasonable at all, even if it would exclusively have a nature of 'moral support' (and this concept might be added in the letter).

Another aspect of this choice would be that it would serve as a "loudspeaker" for this initiative. In fact, it might be accompanied by press releases to International Press Agencies.

I am sure people who are fluent in some languages would even freely contribute with a translation too. Personally, I took the initiative of sending some translated info on these issues to some Italian newspapers. They might not do anything with it, but at least some news are spread. The Italian texts can be found here: http://joe-london.splinder.com/

Note an Italian version already exists at http://joe-london.splinder.com/

1. Good idea.

I think we are going to need international support on this one. One hundred thousand American voices would be loud but possibly still ignored. Add in another 100,000 international voices and congress would probably be forced to respond.
