X-Position, a collaboration of Ohio State faculty and graduate and
undergraduate students in the department of comparative studies, has
organized in protest of the November presidential election because
of voting irregularities and discrimination.
Group members use physical and virtual stage performances on the
Internet to express themselves. Members have an "X" on their face or
right hand, choose individual names like "Ohio mom" and "1789-2004,"
and makes bold, nonviolent gestures, which represent each
individual's civil defiance in their own way.
X-Position will be at the Ohio Statehouse rally at 1 p.m. tomorrow
downtown with Rev. Jesse Jackson beginning at 1 p.m. The group will
be staging public performances later that evening from 6 p.m. to 10
p.m. at Norka Futon at 780 N. High St. with music, poetry, a film
documentary on election problems and the X-Position exhibit.-snip-
