I saw the greatest bumper sticker in Paris, Texas

It was on a midsize Buick being driven by a lady in her 60's-70's.
She was the "prototype" Bush voter...elderly, Texan, probably middle-high income...yet...she had a sticker that had a picture of Teresa Heinz Kerry and said something along the lines of "Our REAL First Lady"...wow!
Has anyone seen any of these stickers anywhere? I'd love to have one.
I wanted to pull the lady over and give her a hug,lol.

Was really going to be closer than anyone thought. I have many friends from Texas and they all detest Bush. Texas would be ripe to check out the votes and the machines, wouldn't it? I honestly believe that there was a lot of padding going on there. I also have a feeling that one of the beneficiaries of that padding was Tom DeLay. This is without proof of course, but just my gut feeling.

3. I had the same feeling

Because I know many people and the majority of the people that I know, in very diverse backgrounds, voted for Kerry.
I had suggested at another time that Texas would be a very good place to audit votes because more and more people dislike Bush and his policies here. I had stated that our owner of our local newspaper put a half page ad on the front page stating why he wouldn't be voting for Bush the 4th time. Was very dramatic in our little town.
I just hate Delay and his little band of idiots...it just makes me sick.

People are really bitter about the redistricting and blatant cronyism that's going on, and its more widespread than anyone seems to think. Anyone know some good lawyers and fraud auditors in Texas?

Maybe CRAWFORD and their newspaper would be a good place to start, their police chief and newspaper hate B*....

endorsed Kerry..and that paper covers the part of the state by chimp's ranch. The reason they gave: It was a "local thing"...chimp did NOTHING and said NOTHING when the area's VA was going to be shut down. Per the paper's editorial page: the hell with the local economy boost gotten from shrub's gaggle of media that comes to town and the chances of Baylor University in Waco maybe getting the shrub library, he didn't lift a finger to help our VA hospital!!

Surely this bit of news trickled it's way to the White House and Karl Rove, etc..

Why did shrub do a ticket-only midnight rally at SMU in Dallas on Nov 1st?? We now know that he hung onto Dallas County by the skin of his gums...Kerry got almost 49% and shrub 51%. Shrub felt a need to come rally his elite in Dallas who are greatly outnumbered in Dallas County. It was NOT his elite group that elected the Hispanic female to county sheriff.

Then there was the report a few days ago that Texas Hispanics were NOT behind shrub as the initial exit polls showed...what was the number change, like 20 points that were put in shrub's column by mistake??

All of these things put together may have had shrubites worrying some..maybe not that TX would go blue but anything less than blinking neon red was not what they wanted.

Like others who have posted in this thread, I talked to people who knew unhappy TX repubs. One lady told me that all the repuke friends she knew were going to vote for Kerry..she then asked them if they thought it would be a close race..the repubs' answer to her question "NO". And this is in a county that shrub "won" 75%-25%.

8. I was convinced that Kerry would do much better

in Texas than the final vote tally revealed because I know many staunch Republicans that voted for him. In Tarrant County, where I live, Bush had the second highest margin in the country. I just don't believe it. We had a huge early voting turnout. And what were those early voters using? Touch screen machines!

personal circumstances dictated that I do it and as it turned out I would not have been able to vote at all had I not voted early.

But I hated the fact that I had to touch screen, without a printout of some sort.

I checked everything very carefully, and it looked ok but who knows what happened after those votes were dumped in to the mainframe?

I expected a better margin, I expected better results for our locals especially Nancy Stevens.

I have never trusted my vote.

11. I felt that way, too.

My county is very republican, but I never once got a negative comment on my Kerry buttons or t-shirts. Got quite a few positive comments. Our local Democratic headquarters was overwhelmed with all the people showing up to volunteer, donate, do anything. And many of them did not really consider themselves Democrats, they just couldn't stand Bush. I thought Texas was going to be closer.
