Flipping the election and working on voter reform are two different issues.

So many here are so fond of taking Kerry's words and playing secret code with them, as if he were Lassie.

"What is it Kerry?"

"You say there's voter fraud in Ohio and we should fight? You want us to follow you?

"Woof, woof!"

He said that every vote would be counted. He has shown us in supporting the glib lawsuit and sending money to Washington and Louisiana that he means it. He said no matter the outcome of the election, he will continue to fight. I've been very happy so see evidence of that as well.

He has shown ample evidence that he indeed gives a fuck. Whether he thinks he can still be prez in 2004 is another matter. He's showing signs that he doesn't personally think so. But that doesn't mean he isn't going to make sure that every damn vote is counted, and that he isn't going to support investigations into vote fraud. He is.

People have said this issue is bigger than Kerry. It's not about him getting into office; it's about exposing the fraud. He appears to agree.

Flipping the election has a time limit. Exposing the fraud does not. I have all but resigned myself to having Bush as president. Something pretty massive would have to come out at this point to change that fact. I don't see it happening. But that doesn't mean I expect everyone to give up come January. In fact, I would be very disappointed if they did. Commit to exposing the fraud in the long haul. Demand that the vote be fixed no matter how long it takes.

I also don't understand why news of the certification is such upsetting news to some. The votes couldn't be recounted unthey were certified, I thought we were told. I thought this was what we were waiting for. And Kerry and/or McAuliffe aren't saying anything different than they've been saying so far. I'm taking them at their word -- no more, no less.
