While the struggle continues on a daily basis to uncover the truth behind the 2004 Presidential election, and others immediately preceding, these efforts are hampered by the lack of an objective strategy and game plan. The objective of this essay is to try to establish a framework for a logical understanding of the existing situation, and to help generate a manifesto in the future that will provide a compass to guide us in the Second American Revolution.
Based upon this dialog, it is hoped that a second Declaration of Independence be drafted and signed by those who are willing to pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
This essay is structured in three sections: the first discusses the background of the current situation; the second looks at the immediate present, and the third looks forward towards the future.
I Democracy In America Has Gradually Been Usurped
The overall battle is based upon the belief that the control of America has been usurped in a major, unprecedented fashion, and that the electoral process has been dangerously, and perhaps fatally, compromised. Those who accept this premise may disagree over it’s inception. Some argue this usurpation began in 1963 with the gangland style execution of President Kennedy by a shooting gallery in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, followed by the immediate escalation of a small conflict in Vietnam to a full scale, protracted war, in which millions of Vietnamese civilians were murdered by the United States of America.
Others believe the usurpation of power dates back to the theft of the Presidential election by the Republican party apparatus in 2000. There are a small few who believe that Bush stole the 2004 election, and won the 2000 election fair and square.
Suffice it to say while there is disagreement over the time frame in which it occurred, ranging over a period of some 40 years, those who feel our previously flawed democracy has been replaced by a radically dangerous one are united upon a single principle: that what has been stolen from us must be returned. To do less is to dishonor the many who gave up their lives and their fortunes to establish this country, and protect and defend it.
II Our Federal Government Is Presently Completely Controlled by the Republican Party
The traditional two-party system in America is in danger of fragmenting for several reasons. One is that the Republican party seems determined to consolidate their control over all three branches of government, and to a large extent the media, as well as religious institutions, and while paying lip service to bi-partisanship, brutally suppress all opposition and dissent, even within their own ranks. Many who are concerned over the theft of the electoral process consider the Republican party to be guilty of trying to perpetuate their rule, analogous to the declaration of the 1,000 year Reich by the Nazi party.
The second reason the two-party system is in danger is that while the Republican party is guilty, the Democratic party is becoming suspect. It does not seem to want to fight the good fight down to the last soldier – the Republicans, becoming aware of this, sense that they should never compromise, but keep pushing relentlessly until the Democrats fold their tents and surrender.
For those who feel the 2000 election marked a watershed in what had been a gradual attrition of democratic rights, and the 2002/2004 cycle a radical extension of this trend, a very strong conclusion follows, based upon an extension of an old adage: Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame of me; fool me thrice, you are my enemy.
Applying this to the Democratic party, the message is very simple: either you are for us, or you are against us (this phrase has been used by the fascists in control of America, and needs to be reclaimed by decent people).
III A Second American Revolution Is Required
Much has been made of the advantages of modern technology to both allow external enemies to attack us, or to allow internal despots to control us. However, it is a simple and obvious fact that the American people have a tremendous amount of power, which if mobilized can sweep away the controlling powers in an instant. Consider what would happen if millions of people marched and protested, if tens of millions of citizens just engaged in passive resistance and civil disobedience, and if tens of thousands of our brave young men and women in Iraq just refused to be used any longer. The control of America is very much like the Wizard of Oz, who uses imagery, and smoke and mirrors, to be appear to be omnipotent, until discovered to be an empty shell.
The time frame for this second revolution cannot be predicted: there is a small, but a real chance that within the next 4 weeks dramatic revelations will surface to prove that that the 2004 election has been a complete and utter fraud, and that Bush and Cheney will be driven out of office in disgrace. No matter what the odds, those who believe that their government has been stolen must struggle for justice every hour and every day to correct this crime. At the 0conclusion of Hemmingway’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, Robert Jordan is dying, yet as he dies he focuses on a last effort to destroy the fascists. The same logic applies to the existing situation in the near term.
However, this effort would be foolish if it did not realize that victory may not come in the next 4 weeks. The first American Revolution certainly did not succeed so easily. As such, there must be an understanding that if Bush and Cheney are inaugurated in January 2005, that there will be a doubling of our efforts, beginning on the day of their coronation, and continuing for the next four years.
Consider this: will the battle hardened veterans of this struggle just give up, and allow the current situation to continue for perpetuity ? It is very doubtful. But to be successful, markers must be put done and realized, not just in time for the 2008 election, but the 2006 election as well. Consider this: will these battle hardened veterans accept any future election in which there is not complete transparency and verification ? Will these battle hardened veterans allow political appointees to continue to control and corrupt the voting process ? Will these battle hardened veterans allow our future elections to be governed by proprietary software and machines that cannot be examined ?
The writing is on the wall, and those in control may have succeeded in a way they will regret. This is the simple and eternal lesson of history, which has seen so many despots, from Ozymandias to Hitler to the Bush dynasty, decay and crumble, and be swept away by the winds and the sands.
