I was a reporter in Tennessee for 10 years full time and two years, freelancing.
I've probably met him, but it will take a while for my brain to reconnect and place him. I'm sure we've run into each other in general reporting circles.
In any case, I'm very proud of that reporter today - and the Tennessee guardsmen who asked the pointed questions of Rummy. :)

Fraid not. Long story but I was in a situation yesterday where right wing radio was on and this was the topic of discussion - and I couldn't believe my ears when the commentator said something like, "why didn't they just answer this question like this months ago? It's an honest answer and legitimate too. Of course it is! You go to war with what you have, not what you hope to have down the road or want to have." or some such nonsense. I fully expected callers to blow this guy away, but nope. They called in to AGREE! I would like to send the commentator and the ppl who called in over there on a one-way ticket. Wonder how they would feel about it then. I guess I could see it if it was completely unexpected - then being unprepared is bad, but for goodness sake, this was a war of CHOICE and we chose the timing. It was errors in judgment across the board. It is also not like this subject just came up yesterday and there is no excuse why armor wasn't a number one priority the moment they realized they were short.

That said, I'd agree that he had several advantages over Bush, including more brains and better judgement in foreign policy. But neither of them have shown much integrity.

I almost, and that's a reeeeeeallly small almost, feel badly about writing such a nasty e-mail to Bob Ney today.

They still all suck, don't get me wrong, but let's take a moment to realize that VOTING will be investigated by Congress in a bi-partisan hearing, or whatever the hell it's going to be.

That, Ladies & Gentlemen, is hot. I haven't taken my eye off the prize in Ohio by any means, but VOTING is going to get a good once-over.

p.s. Why are they making KO stand? I hate that format. They use it on a bunch of the other shows as well. Please, have a seat, sir. You look uncomfortable.

18 months ago. Ebersol persuaded everyone to allow Keith back in to the nbc corleones. The current fair haired boy wonder is the favorite of the nbc corporate chicken dinner set. Wright (head of nbc) is a definite bush supporter. Williams was the succession planned candidate - think Conan getting Leno's spot instead of Stewart analogy... nbc is not into edge (KO is all about the edge :) )- nbc is into bland, boring and don't think outside the box!

And on edit---from interviews I've read with Keith, he is Managing Editor for the program meaning HE chooses the stories he does on Countdown. He's also said that he writes anywhere from 80 to 90% of the scripts each and every night.

Glad to hear KO is ME. That makes sense. I thought I had read somewhere that he picked the stories after they were culled.
