1--make it a key talking point before the election that, even though my candidate trailed his challenger in polls in key swing states, Americans would actually vote differently once in the privacy of the voting both based solely on the issue of safety in a time of war
2--call the major networks on election day and express "concern" that exit polls were "under-reporting" my candidate's results by 3-5%
3--orchestrate a major battle offensive (Fallujah) to quickly take the spotlight from odd election night results
4--denounce anyone calling for a recount or audit as a money-wasting, sore loser

They did it under the cloak of protecting themselves from the evil DEMS trying to steal the election. Our candidate was winning, why would we need to steal it? Yet if you look at some of the threads on places like Free Republic they are more like instruction manuals rather than warnings.

The idea of any sort of organized challenge required the greater public accepting the concept that there was a real danger of minorities organizing nationally to illegally vote.

What they were suggesting was that a massive, seditious organization of the poor, black population of states such as Ohio were planning to spend all day going from poll to poll voting over and over again. Willie Horton and his army of welfare mothers.

The mere concept of challenges should have been cause for outrage and protest.
