but memory is hazy - it was after the elections -- if not on Fresh Air, it was on something on NPR....

I saw him on Hardball. I think he was on the Today Show, and Jay Leno, among others. I still love him, but he hasn't made a peep about the situation, as far as I know.

7. I saw him interviewed by Tim Russert last week some time

Just as Carter declared that Iraq was an unjustified war, Russert cut him off to go to a commercial. Carter was leaning forward and quietly forceful as he looked Russert dead in the eye to make his assertion. And then *poof*.

It seems like he should be on the forefront of this, he should be one of our leaders in the election fraud fight.

Unless he's part of the "stealth" plan to keep it under the radar unilt the right moment.

11. He's been promoting a book

He's done a series of media appearances: Charlie Rose, Hardball, NPR shows, several others. He has offered some criticisms of Kerry (not bashing) and says Al Gore would have had the best chance of winning in 2004. Apparently he pressed Gore hard to run for the nomination.
I don't recall his mentioning election problems recently. Before the election even took place, he had said conditions in the US wouldn't even warrant monitoring by the Carter Center, since the lack of fairness and transparency in the system is so pervasive.

I heard him say it on her radio show. However, I recall seeing in televised on CSPAN and they were discussing it during the break. I know he's said it elsewhere as well. By the way, if you're not familiar with the Diane Rehm show, give it a listen. She's great. The show is very informative.
If you don't hear it there, try a google search or the archives of the Charlie Rose show.
Edit: The show was some time ago, so if he's been on Diane Rehm recently, it's not that broadcast. Diane always gets calls from readers asking about election fraud though, so if he's been on as part of this recent book tour, it would probably be worth listening to that broadcast as well.

Still Seeking a Fair Florida Vote

A partial answer to the other question is that some basic international requirements for a fair election are missing in Florida.

The most significant of these requirements are:

• A nonpartisan electoral commission or a trusted and nonpartisan official who will be responsible for organizing and conducting the electoral process before, during and after the actual voting takes place. Although rarely perfect in their objectivity, such top administrators are at least subject to public scrutiny and responsible for the integrity of their decisions. Florida voting officials have proved to be highly partisan, brazenly violating a basic need for an unbiased and universally trusted authority to manage all elements of the electoral process.

• Uniformity in voting procedures, so that all citizens, regardless of their social or financial status, have equal assurance that their votes are cast in the same way and will be tabulated with equal accuracy. Modern technology is already in use that makes electronic voting possible, with accurate and almost immediate tabulation and with paper ballot printouts so all voters can have confidence in the integrity of the process. There is no reason these proven techniques, used overseas and in some U.S. states, could not be used in Florida.

17. On Larry King, Carter said (with a big grin)...

...that he was certain the Bush Administration wouldn't allow The Carter Center to monitor the elections in Iraq. Obviously he's aware of the tone and mentality of the Bushies.

To my knowledge, Carter hasn't commented on the 2004 election.

If you haven't already, please write The Carter Center, telling them that while their work around the world is a just and noble cause, the promotion of open, free and fair elections should begin right here on our soil.
