Five Ohio Republicans who coasted to re-election in November are among the top 25 members of Congress for making political donations to other campaigns, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
Rep. Deb Pryce, of Bexley, led the Ohio delegation and was 11th in Congress with $1 million in donations, which was half of what she raised for the year, The Columbus Dispatch reported on Sunday.
Pryce, the No. 4 GOP leader in the House and the highest-ranking GOP woman, said helping other candidates is a leadership responsibility and helps her party maintain its decade-old House majority.
The $4 million the five gave to other federal candidates or to national, state and local GOP committees represents two-thirds of the $6 million disbursed from the campaign funds of the 20-member Ohio delegation that has 12 House Republicans, six Democrats and two GOP senators, The Dispatch said.
