Rossi calls for a revote

Republican Dino Rossi called for a new election in the race for Washington governor Wednesday night, a day before Democrat Christine Gregoire is to be certified as the winner by 129 votes.

Rossi, a real estate salesman and former state senator, held a press conference at his Bellevue headquarters to say he'd sent a letter to Gregoire asking for her support in seeking a new election to restore the public's faith in the outcome, which is "shrouded in suspicion."

"Quite frankly, folks, this election has been a mess," Rossi said.

here's an idea Rossi....in the interest of "restoring the public's faith" in the electoral system, let's re-vote in Ohio using non-GOP corporate balloting machines and have the votes counted under public scrutiny instead of behind closed doors.....

4. Was this BEFORE or AFTER he called for a revote after his 42-vote win?

I mean, 120 (whatever) votes is too close for him, but a 42-vote victory sure seemed to suit him at the time. I agree with the previous posts...if there was a re-vote, the Rovians would swoop in with some new code for the e-vote machines to ensure Rossi's victory. There is no democracy anymore.

Look, if Rossi and his supporters really feel they've been
robbed, and they estimate there is any chance of prevailing,
then I say: let them contest the election, and may they find
the fairest possible judges to hear their case. Otherwise
they should quit trying to curry favour with phony offers
for a revote, and rejoin the battle.

8. Excellent Idea From A Republican!

Since the election was a "mess" for the whole country, with exit polls not matching the final count, we should take this Republican's idea by just forgetting about November 2nd and hold a new election to restore the publics faith in the outcome, which is "shrouded in suspicion."

If Republicans want to restore faith in the election by invalidating the results of the last election and hold a new election right away, we should agree that their should be a re-vote everywhere.
