Provisional Presidency?

OK, let's say there is an objection to the Electoral Vote from Ohio by the House and the Senate. Then what?

Three possibilities:

1. Bush out, Kerry in.

2. Bush in.

3. Bush stays in ****provisionally**** pending a full investigation of the 2004 election. If we get the goods on him, he's out. Meanwhile he's delegitimized even more than in 2000. He's such an arrogant SOB, it won't matter much to him, but to the world, the American people and the Congress, it would matter a lot. And think of the bits on Saturday Night Live, Air America and The Daily Show!

If there was a mob outside of the congress while the election contest was being held, they're probably think twice about ignoring it... Since they kinda have to go through that angry group of protestors to go home.

Of course, it'd have to be like 100,000+ people or more.

2. My guess

My guess - and it is only a guess - is that IF we can get one senator to stand up and contest this fraud it will deligitmize him. I don't think option 1 will happen although it would be sweet revenge. I think option 3 will happen but the investigation(s) won't be able to throw this sob out so we'll be stuck with him. It is very much worth at least making the effort to stop this insanity even if it fails becasue we can do nothing less and still look at oursleves in the mirror.

Let's reverse it - just hypothetically. Let's say Kerry won the elections but during the electoral vote count in Congress one Republican senator stands up and contests a state. You think that there was no significant fraud. Would this "deligitimize" Kerry's presidency in your eyes? I don't think so. So why do you think it will work the other way?

you and I know that but too many people don't know. I meant that MAYBE he would then be seen as not a legitimate president. MAYBE it would change enough minds to make a difference I don't know maybe it wouldn't matter at all. What I'm saying is the effort at least has to be made that the Democrats have to show some fight. You can't always just stand there and take it. Maybe you'll lose and in this case we probably will because I don't think there is one senator with the guts to say no to this garbage.

4. I would guess no, and here's why.

There is no tolerance of ambiguity in our government right now. The whole culture has been traumatiszed by the constant hyping of 9/11.

In fact, what the Bush government has done to us post 9/11 out 9/11s 9/11. (Are you following?)

So, there is no way anyone is going for a "provisional" anything at this point.

Bush is most likely in. But, we need to pursue the process anyway, to show the MafiaMajority that we know what the center of the faux "war on terror" really is, a war on our Constitution.

the vote acceptance in terms of it affecting the presidential nomination. It is not going to change anything. The house did it in 2000, if they get a Senator all that will do is force a vote which (unless something very dramatic happens) will take all of 15 minutes be a 99 to 1 non-event. The only think that is going to have any affect is clear and convincing evidence, lets' find that

for four years. There is no other means of removing whomsoever is inagurated on January 20th from office.

Whomsoever is declared the winner when the Senate counts the electoral votes on January 6 will be inaugurated on January 20th. Barring impeachment, whomsoever is declared the winner on that date will be president for four years. There is no other way, constitutionally, to alter this.

Whomsoever received the most electoral votes on December 13 when the ballots were cast will be declared the winner when the votes are read on January 6. That person is George W. Bush.

Soooooo, no matter what, George W. Bush is our president for the next four years unless he is impeached or expires in office. If either of those two extremely unlikely events were to occur, Dick (Head) Cheney would be president for the remainder of the term.

These are the constitutional facts. Nothing will alter this. NOTHING

23. George Bush has been our provisional president

for four years already. And by the time this would get sorted out, I fear what he would do.

Constitutionally, if one senator joins with the representatives to contest the electoral votes, then there is hope for us. What will happen after that, I'm not certain. What I am certain of is that the Democrats in office need to speak up that day, and stand their ground. That is why everyone MUST contact their senators!!!
