Why a Senator needs to stand up.

The Democrats are losing faith in their elected Democrats. If no one in the Senate stands up, the party is dead. No one will ever trust an elected Democrat again. If someone from the Senate stands up, it will give the party faithful something to hang onto.

I wrote the DNC after the election and told them I would NEVER vote Dem again if they allowed this to continue....

- I was furious when Kerry gave up OUR VOTE to these Rep criminals.

- I was furious at the outright and blatant suppression, clearly visible across the Red States.

- I have an autoimmune disease and no health insurance..there is no such thing as compassionate conservatism.

- My sons are within the draftable age group.

- The trade deficit with China, the Iraq War, the Pentagon and the tax cut to the rich is destroying the economy.

- My sons will come out of school with a hard earned degree and not find any work.

- Women will be forced back into a 'barefoot and pregnant' servitude.

LOGIC and RATIONAL points out the end of 'fair elections' if they do not contest this election NOW. Are these senators hoping the Republicans will choose a few of them to stay on and 'play the token Dem Senator game'?

and it's not just about the party faithful. There are likely many like myself who came to the Democratic Party out of desperation last year (from an independant/far left background, in my case) and were rather impressed by the Democrats (as people - not as a party). The National Party is just a nightmare, as far as I am concerned, but the actual Democrat citizens are awesome, especially here on DU. If the Democratic politicians don't start representing the real desires of their real constituents, my foray into voting Democrat may just be a blip, and I'll start writing in my Mom for President again.

6. I agree here is my letter to Dem Senators.....

Dear Senator,

I am writing to urge you to back Rep John Conyers on January 6th in requesting a delay in the electoral college voting until after a FULL INVESTIGATION of election misdeeds. I am a resident of Ohio. I am ashamed to say that I witnessed the most UN-AMERICAN abuses of civil rights by the placement of machines. This blatant suppression of democratic votes was a deliberate attempt to control the election. We were told by the Democratic candidates, Kerry/Edwards, that this time very vote would count.

I canvassed low income African American neighborhoods for Kerry/Edwards in Columbus Ohio. I knew the determination of the voters. I was truly amazed by the commitment these precincts had to GOTV for the dems. We registered so many first time voters. Everyone was aware of the huge voter registration. The Secretary of State, and Ohio Co-Chair Bush/Cheney '04, Kenneth Blackwell received funds from HAVA to help out with voting issues after the 2000 election. The money is still in the bank. Machine distribution was altered not fairly, but in order to achieve his goal of Co Chair Bush/Cheney. We urged countless voters in inner city and campus precincts to wait the ridiculous times (5-10 hours!!!!) standing in the cold rain, to stay the course-their votes would be counted. This is the modern day equivalent of a POLL TAX! They targeted those with the least amount of flexibility in their jobs, childcare and health! I am ashamed of this UN AMERICAN action. My own white affluent precinct, which slightly leaned toward Bush(I tried! but what can you do with wealthy people who voted based on their taxes), had short or no lines on election day. Nearby, countless minority voters were not able to wait to cast their votes because they could not afford to stay the wait.

I am not a politician. I am a mother, a small business owner, a proud liberal and a person who keeps her word. I will continue to fight these civil rights abuses until every voter counts and every vote is counted. I urge every Democrat to stand up and do what is right! I have put my family, business, and life on the back burner so I can fight to our protect the right to vote. I will stand up until every voter is treated with equal protection under the law. This is not about John Kerry and George Bush. This is about the integrity of our Democracy.

There were just too many irregularities, all favoring Bush, not to question the accuracy of the vote in Ohio. Look at the placement of machines in inner city Columbus neighborhoods vs republican suburban precincts in Franklin County. Look at the placement of machines at Kenyon College vs. the rest of Knox County. Look at the precincts that contain Central State College vs the rest of Greene County. Since Ohio was instrumental in choosing the President, a full investigation, or a RE-VOTE under strict conditions, must occur. It doesn't matter if there is no precedent-this is about the INTEGRITY OF OUR DEMOCRACY!

is totally screwed. It loses it's energized base, i.e., DU and the other bloggers, and its historical base, blacks. I wonder if there is a Democrat smart enough to do the calculation of two stolen elections, stolen through electoral fraud directed primarily at blacks; and a FAILURE to to answer that fraud when black members of the House of Representatives appeal the theft.
