Simple question... lots of senators seem to be showing a lack of interest in saving Democracy. What will you do if the person speaking for your state refuses to see what's directly in front of them and doesn't stand up in support on the 1/6/05

What's easy about being a 3rd Party candidate is that you have the freedom to say whatever you want because you're most likely not going to get elected anyway. What's not easy is the slim-to-none chance of getting elected.

But you know what? Read things however you wish. Truth doesn't matter anymore.

To an extent. I was not trying to mislead anybody. I just found it hard to believe people in here would not appreciate how difficult it is to challenge injustices in this country- regardless of political party. Because of that miscalculation, I did not explain it as much as I probably should have. My apologies.

to tell if a third party candidate was someone who was either boldly naive or someone prone to morphing into the establishment once success reared its ugly head. I do get the sense, that principles or not, many third party leaders are not up to crashing through the leadership barrier- as vacated as it now is by the major parties who got the game down pat.

People with that degree of savvy and sway end up getting drafted to the majors and not just as a career advancement but as a way to really jumpstart their principles(more fool they). One major party REALLY has to melt down. As much as I would hate for it to be the Dems with their many fine people I would hope to see some large exodus to retrieve the lost center of the nation's soul. Funny, the fabled infighting in the party never crosses into the tempting possibilities of a new or renewed party. Oddly, the one article of power they cling to keeps the withering ranks in line. And the "New Democrats" was a disastrous realization of remaking the party into the Old Deal pre-FDR party while tolerating the labor, minorities and progressive wings that do the real flying. That lone voice of "New" should never have gone unchallenged. It has poisoned the very capacity for growth.

I'd like to see our elected officials performance on this issue become the defining criteria for their next primary campaign. We should make them take a pledge on the lines of what the NH taxpayers demand from their elected officials to pledge not to raise taxes. We need to make support of transparent/auditable elections the primary pledge from our candidates.
