Exit Poll Smoking Gun - From Slate.com
I found this on Slate.com today. It has some interesting stuff about the exit polls. Below is a small excerpt. I have no way to verify its accuracy. Here's a link to the full article:

Exit Poll Smoking Gun
Bloggers can attack with New Zeal!
By Mickey Kaus
Updated Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at 2:43 PM PT

The smoking gun indicting the official Mitofsky/Lenski exit poll appears to have surfaced--in New Zealand! Mystery Pollster points the way to this file posted on the Scoop website. It is one of several that "appear to be actual internal Election Day reports generated by Edison/Mitofsky," according to MP. ... What it shows: As late as 7:33 P.M. on Election Day, Mitofsky and Lenski were apparently telling their clients (NBC, CBS, CNN, AP, etc.) that after "weighting" Kerry was beating Bush by 9 points among women and losing by only 4 among men. By 1:24 P.M. the next day (see this file) revised results revealed that, in fact, Kerry won women by only 3 points while Bush won men by 11 points. Whoops! ...

2. Huh?
It's not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic.

3. We lived in a Democratic Republic, provided for by the U.S. Constitution
and the U.S. Bill of Rights. A Democratic Republic is a form of DEMOCRACY, of which there are many.
So sick of this Rush Limbaugh talking point.

5. That's exactly what it is
Limpball's, InSannity, Man Coulter talking points. They love seeing "REPUBlic" instead of "DEMocracy". It's so juvenille and so their level! :puke:

7. When the candidate who wins the popular vote
doesn't win, I won't call it a democracy. There is nothing democratic about that.

9. If we vote (and those votes are counted) for people who reform the
electoral college system, will you consider it a democracy again?

11. I will consider it a Democracy when...
The candidate that gets the most votes wins. I will consider it a democracy when Jesusland, with fewer people, has fewer Senators.

The electoral college is out of date. Two Senators per state does not represent population centers.

As far as I'm concerned, we have fascism by the minority, not democracy.

4. Referring to the Scoop site in NZ....I think althecat's site?
Anyway, they had the link and all the summary .pdf files for the Congressional/Presidential exit polls.....

But read on-

"It wasn't the dumb bloggers who didn't understand on Nov. 2 that they were being prematurely leaked "complex displays intended for trained statisticians," as Mitofsky would have it--or the dumb Kerry aides and dumb Bush aides who believed the same leaked numbers. It was that the weighted results Mitofsky's statisticians put out were full of it! ..."

You see? It's all Mitofsky's fault for misreading the data! Case closed...move along.

10. The polls were posted on DU some days ago
by althecat who obtained the weighted data by region for the afternoon, evening (pre-computer glitch--Mitofsky server went down-and the final adjusted polls. James Simon had captured the polling data just after the server went down. The state-by-state polls, which Mitofsky won't release would have cost althecat $10,000. The only reason he released the regional data on scoop (New Zealand web site) is that Mitofsky refused to release them to Conyers.

12. I have seen some of the numbers butt...
I'm looking for a good unbiased analysis. I guess this one wasn't it. I'll keep looking. Having seen the New Hampshire results and exit polls, I suspect that the exit polls were very poorly done. Scamming NH voting stations is almost impossible. We are small enough so that the people running the polling places know the voters, yet the exit polls were horrible.

Thanks.
