But as for me, I am going to call some of those who are out of state. How will they know whether or not I am a voter in their stateunltss I tell them so? Even if they do not respond to non-constituent mail, their staff do compile pro/con tallies that include out-of-state correspondence. I've contacted every single democratic senator and a handful of republicans. It might not help, but it sure as hell won't hurt.

ETA: Remember that today's Senator may be tomorrow's presidential candidate. ;)

and asked for him to contest tomorrow. The man who answered didn't know whether Jay would stand up tomorrow. I told him that I objected to Jay's response to my email (that election reform was important but Nov 2004 election was over). He said that he didn't know today where the senator stood but maybe he had changed his mind. My response: "I certainly hope so."

Mine are all repugs (Texas, don'tcha know?). Last night, I e-mailed or webformed every dem Senator. Obama didn't have one set up yet that I could find, but I sent everybody else one. Yeah, I've gotten auto replies that tell me thanks for expressing my opinion, but if I don't live in their state I should not expect a response. I don't want a response, I want them to stand!!

24. Does anyone know Reid's position?

As Minority Leader, Reid should be driving the train on this, so his position is important. An objection by a Democratic senator will fan partisan flames and make his job much more difficult from Day One. If he's against it and it happens anyway, it will put him in a very awkward position. He'll be forced to either lead a partisan fight with the Republicans that he doesn't want or if he doesn't fight, he'll have to face the wrath of constituents that will further weaken the party. Reid will be seriously pissed off under that scenario and might retaliate against the offending senator. If he has any brains, he has already told Senate Democrats what he wants and warned them not to do anything different.

If anything happens in the Senate, it will likely come from a group of senators - at least 6 or 7. If only one senator objects, the MSM will make him look like an idiot.

My bet is that nothing happens. Reid is just starting out and he's not going to sh*t in the punchbowl as his first official act.

37. I heard Reid on Randi Rhodes last month, and HE brought up the Fraud

issue. They were talking about something else, and HE brought it up...very animated and outraged. And when Randi said her producers did not like her discussing it, he still continued.

So I would NOT be surprised if OTHER Senators start first, if he joins in as well.

I wrote both of my Republican Senators, and one of them is surely a nut-job. (HINT: He advocated the death penalty for fellow doctors who perform abortions.) It may not make much of a difference, but I am not going to sit idly by and do nothing when I can at least try. It does not hurt to send off a letter or make a few phone calls. At least I can sleep at night knowing that I tried my damnedest to communicate the severity of this past election -- even if it was to Republicans from Oklahoma who are both doubtlessly nefarious in character at best.
