the posts of you stout-hearted people. I just didn't like what he said about the opinion of the Dems' lawyers.

If that were to be taken seriously, it can only mean one of two things:

a) the unequivocal verdict of the electorate, as indicated by the *true* election result, can have no bearing on who wins the presidential election - a variant of Florida 2000;

b) or the electoral and civil-rights laws are laws of "straw", maybe enforceable in tens of thousands of individual cases of fraud, voter intimidation and suppression, but no aggregation of them, however serious and vast its scale, can ever be considered significant in terms of the election result.

In other words, on the micro level, wow, hot stuff, we're dynamite, but on the macro level, i.e., the election result, itself, why it don't amount to a hill o' beans. The law in this frontier town is jist what the sheriff and his deputies say it is.

I still prefer to believe it was a sucker punch on the neocons, though. With his trips to all those countries in the Middle-East, it doesn't seem as if he's just interested in fair US elections in the future.

I also received an email from a woman who organized phone banking for Kerry that I participated in (she didn't know much about how the election was riddled with fraud, so her mass email to call Boxer was even more meaningful).

Also, I just saw the Conyers report and the letter that Blackwell sent bragging about pulling the election of Bush off in Ohio (see Raw Story). If this letter is true, Blackwell is one dumb fool.

In fact, I read between the lines enough that when he says to call Congress, that he's actually saying to call our Senators and ask them to support Conyers, not just the two members that he specifically mentions. I saw got the letter today, and yes, though I hate to hear the ol' "not enough evidence" catch phrase, he may be telling the truth. A smoking gun can take a while to find. I am sure they all know that the election was fraught with shenanigans, but no legal case I have ever seen is a slam dunk in eight weeks. It just isn't possible. I'm sure Kerry is encouraging us all to hammer away, though...after all why would he bother to write us at all? That letter was pretty long and detailed, and filled with specific instructions. He could just send a "thanks everybody, goodbye" note if this were dead in the water.

I think the timing was perfect, and the message was (fairly) clear, yet there are still threads about how Kerry has let us down. The guy clearly can't do anything right for some people, but he's ok by me.

Kerry is a good man to realize it doesn't matter anymore who stands in the White House. "We the People" deserve to have EACH and EVERY vote counted. This does give me hope for the future. With Kerry on board investigating, which is the thing I admire most about him, we have a chance at REAL and SUBSTANTIAL election reform. I will definately volunteer for him again. I am a redistricted former constituent of Rush Holt's. I followed his e-voting bill from before it's introduction. Hastert is the person who never allowed it to come to a vote. I've bugged keith Olbermann to get him and Rush on together to publicly discuss why he did that. If what I hope for becomes reality tomorrow, I hope that Kerry will help to expose Hastert and his entire cabal for the crooked, lying cheaters that they are.

Let's just hope it won't be too slippery tomorrow morning. I'm hoping to drive down there and be a cheerleader for democracy. Be hopeful all. We have not heard much from Rush but, he is really passionate about voter protection and he understands the techonology. Tomorrow could be very interesting indeed.

Rush Holt and John Kerry are honorable and smart men. The contrast in leadership with Bush, Hastert and the GOP Ghoulie Men is stark.

of it & no matter the result - it will be a war afterward for change in the way the voting is done in this country, from Jan7 on. He's right, even if the challenge produces nothing but awareness of the problems & fraud in the general public. The citizens are firing the opening salvo via demanding the challenge, he has too much of a vested interest in the results of that challenge to make an overt step till it's done. But watch his moves AFTER, he will be able to come out like a charging bull, he needs to know that his base will back up that fight & charge right alongside! I think he is aware that this is bigger than him taking office, a patriot puts his/her own interests aside for the greater good.
