to buy TV ad time. The biggest sham of US Elections is that OUR airwaves, which should belong to the citizens of the United States, are sold back to us by private companies. So our well meant political donations end up in the pockets of wealthy media moguls and stockholders.

The entire election spectacle was a massive wealth transfer from private activist citizens to media companies and their stockholders.

As far as the lawyers, I know a few who volunteered to help with voting monitoring, working on the front lines to make sure voters were not disenfranchised, and they donated personal funds to the campaign too.

I think it was mostly altruistic, but there was also the very real fear of loss of livelihood if Bush passes his proposed "tort reform".

What good would that serve? How could that be constructive? Kerry has more money than he can spend now. To allege he endured the abuse of one of the most harrowing presidential campaigns in American history, the physical and emotional exhaustion it entails, to skim campaign donations is beyond ridiculous.

Complain about his absence, but mentioning money in this fashion is irresponsibly deconstructive.
