10. I had my doubts few weeks ago...

...but really sensed in the last couple of weeks that we were having an effect. Our grassroots efforts, especially the massive campaign to contact our representatives this week, had enormous impact, I think.

Contrary to what the republicans keep saying, we are not dead. We're just re-tooling.

12. I 'fess up

I didn't think they would or should, but Boxer did it in a classy, principled way. What I didn't want was someone standing up and shouting "fraud" when we didn't have a "smoking gun": The way Boxer and the Dems did it, though -- pointing to highly suspect irregularities and saying no American should have to stand in line for four hours to vote -- was great. I hope they keep at it, pushing hard for election reform.

I have to go now -- I need to get a glass of water and a Pepto tablet as my stomach is upset from the eating that crow (it tastes a bit like chicken...).

But really, those grassroots efforts by DUers really did pay off. You all did a great job and have much to be proud of (for example, saving democracy).
