National standards and verifiable voting. This is non-partisan. Get everyone onboard!

9. I think what we need to do
is replace the senators who voted NO in 2006 and 2008. We need to STOP acting rethug-lite. We need to energize our base, instead, and work on HOW to convey our message.

6. I think the first step

is to get all your Democratic Senators and Congressmen and women who did not stand up for the people OFF your political map.

Then you do not have to continue to criticize, but concentrate on rebuilding the party.

Then you can start to rebuild - as otherwise, you have a badly twisted party where the minorities are not going to trust you one bit. They are not trustworthy if they cannot stand up for their electorate!!

7. I think that
a little healthy criticism now and then is important and could even be beneficial. Some think that it detracts from what we're trying to accomplish, but I think that criticism, especially healthy criticism, makes one reevaluate one's priorities.

8. Agreed. Publicly, we need to practice DU's 11th Commendment of Politics...
"Never publicly speak ill about another Progressive."

As far as holding our elected reps to task - DO IT, AND NAIL 'EM ON IT. But that's between you and your reps. It's not for the Bushbots' consumption.

13. Absolutely. We cannot create the neocons' talking points for them.
They try to turn us against each other and then use what some post as their new talking points. They use those to hammer us. What's wrong with this picture? :eyes: They're not that creative. People need to stop aiding and abetting them by venting just to make themselves feel better. It's selfish, at best.

10. Certain criticism is not only valid and it's working. SS, Iraq, crooks in
House of Rep. and voting. It must be pointed with no visible hate, in other words we must be the loyal opposition. Bush's polling # are down the people apparently don't like his political capital ideas.

14. There is nothing wrong with criticism.
It will help us build and focus our arguments and points. We need to also continually be thinking of what the opposition will use to attack and discredit us. These need to be brought up here so we can get a game plan to respond and discredit all of their arguments.
