"John Kerry and I have made a promise to the American people that with this election every vote would count and every vote would be counted. Tonight we are keeping our word and we will fight for every vote," Kerry's running mate John Edwards said in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Yet the Kerry concession at around 11 a.m. EST suggested that the Democrats did not believe they had sufficient votes to make a difference in the overall result."


This means Kerry cared about who won and who lost. He did NOT care about the voter. You gentle reader...its all about you. John Kerry did not care about you, me or the disenfranchized. He would only care if it made a difference in the over all result.

Wake up and come to reality. Our so called "leaders" do not truly care about us because they feel they are above us, above our concerns and above our anger. We need to bring ALL of our elected officials back under the peoples power. We continue to consent to be governed without stepping forward and demanding true representation and responsibility from them.

I've never been involved in Politics before until Nov 2nd of this year. With the help of many friends we were able to get a local group started that made an impact in our city and state and specifically with our Senator.

At the moment I am doing as much research as possible on federal officials and how they can be reigned in and directed.

If you have an recommended reading lists I would appreciate it.

11. Here's a suggestion: Join your local Democratic club or committee.

It (usually) costs about $10 per year and gives you direct, rather than rumor, information on who is doing what and why. You will also have an opportunity to support or oppose those local candidates who best reflect your beliefs. If you want to see the national leaders of the future, look at the state and local level today. There is no required minimal level of participation, everything is on a volunteer basis, and there is no limit to how much you can do if you are willing to work for others as well as yourself. I see many suggestions here of ways that we can make a difference; protests, fund raising, letters and emails, etc. The most direct way to effect the party is to join it and participate.

And, for something to add to your reading list, how about "Plunkett of Tammany Hall" by George Washington Plunkett --a short, incisive description of the Tammany political machine, written by someone who was profiting from it.

But I cannot get anyone to help me. Well, I think one poster may be doing a letter. I say we make one of those one click mail pages, addressed to all of the Senators who voted nay. I say we at DU mass mail them as we did the Sinclair folks. Tell them that we are not pleased with their actions and we will vote accordingly the next go round. As long as we stay silent, they will too.

who rented substandard apartments (non-functioning plumbing, dangerous electricity problems,etc.) The judge sentenced him to live in one of his own apartments, as is, for a month.

How about making monthly community service in the poorest neighborhoods of their states a standard part of the job of senators and representatives?
(I love it that Martha Stewart is becoming an advocate for prison reform!)

you are right. and i saw this in hte last action with so many saying htere wasnt an issue. even boxer not knowing the full extent yet having seen enough from tubbs to jump on board. i am beginning to believe hillary when she said three four days ago i have not heard there was a problem with votes. she too jumped on board in speech anyway once everyone started emailing and calling after hearing that subject

so i am going to inform those in my area, my rep and state senator since texas machines screwed the voter.

No. Because that's not how it works.

I believe there was massive fraud.

But I believe under the current circumstances, it played out in maximum advantage to the Democrats given our threatened status. But when we are threatened, we awaken

specifically "no evidence that would change the outcome of the election."

That is the winner versus loser point of view. That is NOT the point of view of someone who cares about the voter. The individual citizen. The you and me part of the equation that creates this United States of America.
