I've noticed that all the events connected to the Democratic Party and the opposition have been smaller since Novemeber 2nd. People put their all out for Kerry and he turned his back on them. A great many people are saying, "why bother?"

People, the Nazi's are taking over. They are counting on us getting discouraged. In other countries bad guys have been shouted out of power. It doesn't take an election. It takes us. Make no mistake about it. We won. Kerry won big. We have known for a long time that the DNC and most Democratic leaders were all talk and no results. They are not going to save us. We have to save us. Yesterday, we saw 32 heroes along with others who couldn't vote on the motion, such as Reverend Jesse Jackson. We need to rebuild and we need to make a commitment to oust anyone who voted "nay" yesterday. If the progressives unite, we can throw out the DNC leadership along with the thieves they cater to.

I haven't been to a major demonstration in many a years but I went to DC Thursday. It was one of the very best days in my life!!! Oh sure, I've had more fun, more success, more friends with me, etc. But I felt entirely satisfied.

The crowd at Lafayette and Capitol Hill was smaller than we'd like but, in terms of key leaders, it was huge -- many many in the ***VOTING RIGHTS***movement leaders were there speaking. It was an honor to be with them.

Here's the deal: JUST SHOW UP and bring a friend.
The numbers will change if we all just take this personal responsibility.

You comments are very correct. If there were 20-30k people downtown (DC) yesterday, I think it would have blown people's minds on the Hill and we'd have had more votes.

We need a whopper soon, like the Million Man March or some of the anti-Iraq war protests. We do that a few times, and they'll take a big dump in fear of a mass movement.

17. I really wish I could have been there

I participated in several marches and demonstrations against the Vietnam War in San Francisco back in the old days, including one with about 300,000 people in 1970, I think it was. Everybody was always so pumped up and the energy fantastic. It's great to see so many people getting that same kind of energy again. We accomplished a lot back then (although it apparently didn't completely stick), and we can do it again. I guess what it shows is that democracy requires eternal vigilance or it just slips away.

about 7:15 PM EST tomorrow in this forum. I went to school in CA and went to a few of those events myself. For some reason, this one was extremely moving (and I'm not moved easily). I was just overwhelmed by the act of public advocacy for democracy! I think 1/6/05 in DC was the beginning of something huge. Thanks for the message.
